Do You Live Your Life on Auto Pilot?

Have you gone through life on autopilot and heard a brief whisper that said there’s more?

That whisper that is your purpose trying to come to the surface.

If you are lacking purpose in trying to find it, it is important that you understand your purpose will not knock you over the head.

It isn’t going to show up at your doorstep one day. Your purpose is just below the surface, waiting for the moment you discover it.

Go back all the way to when you were a kid. Think of what you would love to play with or the subjects in schools you really enjoyed? Or hobbies or activities that come to mind that you really enjoyed.

I remember when I was a little girl; I used to go to my garage, and I had a big chalkboard.

I would put all my stuffed animals in little chairs and I would pretend to be their teacher.

I love teaching. It’s what I do every day. I also love learning. When I went through adversity, I turned my pain into passion.

I became a family therapist for the past 20+ years and then I became a life coach for the past three years.

What was the pattern? I enjoyed teaching people to grow and develop to their best selves.

I shared with you my purpose. Now let’s talk about you.

What is your purpose? Take time to think about it. Be specific when you think about your likes and dislikes.

What activities do you like to do?

What hobbies do you enjoy?

What events do you love the most?

Take time to really think about it and if you run out of ideas, ask family members and friends what they see or know about you.

It’s easy to let external and internal noise keep you from living out your purpose.

Learn how to block out the noise that tells you this is a dumb idea or you don’t have time to think about it.

Practice stepping into your purpose when you feel most distracted by the noise. Do it anyway!
